Punching out the pieces took maybe ten minutes with my six-year-old, and the interlocking parts fit so snugly we didn't need a drop of glue. The clownfish shape came together solidly enough to sit on his shelf without wobbling, and we both had a great time figuring out which fin went where.
The press-fit assembly was surprisingly forgiving for our 7-year-old, and the finished clownfish has held together well on his shelf. I loved that it took us a full evening of teamwork with zero glue or mess involved, and he's already asking to do another one.
